The GQ Men Of The Year Awards, which won the Gold for Best Lifestyle Event of the Year (WOW AWARDS), was an evening of suave elegance that brought together India’s most fashionable men across industry, under one roof. The venue was designed in the theme of ‘gold-laced monochrome’ to exemplify GQ magazine’s crisp layout of clean black print on white and its quintessential brand of luxury.

Condé Nast India held its annual Indian edition of GQ Men of the year 2014 on September 29 at Grand Hyatt Mumbai.

The event honored and recognized stars not only from the entertainment industry but also from fashion, sports & the corporate sector and it proved out to be a perfect platform where high end style & glamour met impeccable content.

I designed and art directed the concept for the set and theme for the evening - “NU Rock n Roll” which was amalgamated beautifully during the show with the guests walking the red carpet dressed in chic yet dramatic outfits exuberating the essence of ‘Rock n Roll’ to the hilt. The entire set design along with the look and feel was also accentuated with elements that reflected “Rock n Roll”.

The stage backdrop included two larger-than-life 3D guitars with a wall motifs made of gramophone records. The stage itself was part of a giant guitar where the chords of the guitar seemed to extend from the stage into the aisle right up to where the audience was seated.

Team 70EMG suggested to the client that since the theme this year is Rock n Roll, they should perhaps move away from standard Bollywood performances.

Results: 70 EMG who won the mandate after a multi-agency pitch.
